Umbria

It was 6.30 when we got away this morning. The landlady gave us a deal without breakfast. 

 After about 10kms we came across a McDonald's . Oh Boy!

HORRIBLE! Worst eggs ever

Ancona was only 40kms away and we had no idea what time the train left for Foligno. Luckily, There was one at 1.45 so we had plenty of time

Bikes go in a room just behind the driver. Just ours so far but at the first station we picked up another 8 racing bikes. A club that had cycled 3 days here from Rome and were taking the train back.

This was such a good section to take the train over. Especially for me😀

 I went up and introduced myself to the driver and he let me travel in the cab with him for a while. WHAT A BLAST !

It was an electric train and I was fascinated with the controls. Here's Foligno. Bye train

By now it's 4.30 so we grabbed the hotel next to the station .

Sh-- shower shave and shampoo then went and looked around town

What a lovely old town and it was festival week

This is Alexandria's bar and is the coolest bike bar EVER!

Tomorrow we begin another stage as we head out across Umbria and Tuscany. 

 Since leaving Athens we've biked about 750kms. We'll take it slower through this section
