Florence

Last nights hotel was under the blue dot ,and so was a massive thunderstorm . We'll make Florence today then in a couple of days will head west to Pisa.
A delivery of wood turned up for their stove while we were getting the bikes out of the garage. Visibility was bad when we took off due to low cloud, so we put on our fluros and turned our flashing lights on
It cleared when we dropped down out of the hills but we're now on a busy road. This is Elisia from the little tourist info shop and she suggested taking the train in from the suburbs because of the traffic and lack of bikeways
So we turned off this route after a while to San Giovianni . Under the subway....
Hello ! This truck had just beaten us to it . He was loaded up with bottles of water which had spilled over the road. Pity we didn't need any
"How high is your curtain sider again ?"
Nice little town. This is the town hall with space under it for the markets
But typically no provision for bikes at the station
Florence was packed with tourists as this is the start of the famous art festival week. Hotels were filling up fast and we had to pay twice what it's been costing us so far.
It is a spectacular place though .The whole city centre is an art gallery and it was good to wander amongst it all without the bikes
We're whacked so it's an early night and we'll have another look tomorrow
