Two kittens and 3 pet turtles kept us amused in the garden this morning as we waited for Christopher to bring us our French breakfast
He had to fetch it from the patisserie . Home made jam, pot of English tea ,yum.
Then it was down the causeway to pick up the canal again in the middle of Etang de Vic ( lake Vic )
There must be thousands of people living on boats in the south of France
Judging by the amount of nets they must catch a lot of eels
Here we are at the lakes end in Frontignan. Just one more stretch of canal to take us in to Sete
And we arrive in the old fishing village on the Etang de Thau. This is where the canal Sete 'a Rhone ends. Vessels must now navigate the lake and then enter the Canal du Midi to get inland to Toulouse.
We've only come about 30kms and its just lunch time but we want to stay here for the jousting championships. Sete is the canal town of southern France and I found an old pub close to the main canal .
Our balcony is up on the left , we can see the canal traffic ,and as I write this there is a lovely jazz band playing in the pub opposite.(the word jazz and lovely don't usually mix!)
