Santa Croce Sull'Armo

It may have been expensive, but at least they gave us a decent breakfast. ( and morning tea )
This couple just got married last night and they were off this morning to the Ponte Vecchio for photos.
The art and the buildings of Florence are magnificent but it wasn't a particularly pretty place. We head for Pisa on the old road, Via Pisana.
After 20kms at Montelupo, coffeed up and ready for the next stage, this nice lady told us there is a Bikeway to Pisa, and led us part of the way...
After 6kms we reached this archeological site. Only ,there was a motorway across the valley? Checked the iPad and realised we were heading back towards Florence ! NOOO !
As we retraced our steps I recalled what Ash is ALWAYS saying
Never ask a woman for directions'
Back in town again and we stopped at this fruit stall for a rock melon. A favourite lunch.
The family that own it couldn't do enough for us. Bought out table and chairs (did we look that stuffed?) a plate , filled our water bottle. Here they are, Monica,Massimo and Alessio. They have a farm called Agricola Da Vinci which you can find on Facebook
This road has been quite good with no big hills and through some nice villages .We made it to this village before the usual afternoon showers, cleaned up,then joined the locals in the piazza for a beer
That's our pub at the end of the street
