Because breakfast wasn't included in the €50 , we bought yoghurt and fruit which we preferred to the Italian breakfast anyway . It was still a climb up to Perugia but we wanted an information centre to give us our best routes through Umbria.

We stopped at a busy intersection and a lovely lady came up beside us and asked us where we were going

Her name was Dorrie and she was involved with a group promoting cycling in Umbria. She wrote out an itinary for us . But first we needed to see this city that we had climbed so high for.

The adoring locals couldn't believe we had made it up here by bike !

Perugia has the prettiest cake shop ,but not much else to tickle the taste buds I'm afraid
But Look at these !After all that ;"!? effort ,we see on our way down, these little shuttle trains that whip you up to the top. SHIT !
Its a busy road to Magione , but from here on its cycle trails we're told.
It's on top of another hill and we stop for a nice spaghetti bolognase ( by now it's noon )

And shortly after ,pick up the cycle trail to the lake

Lake Trasimeno and a cycle trail that goes right around .( 50 kms )
YAY !
