Up with the sparrows this morning and on the trail by 7.30. Trying to get through this section to Dole . Good trail to Verdum le Doubs and then onto a country road through vast , flat fields of grain. Head wind made for hard going and the trail was poorly marked.
They were making a new road from Mont le Seure along the edge of the Saone and this was the worst 5 Km's yet. Had a long break at St Jean de Losne . This is a very pretty port and was full of beautiful boats. Lots of them from Switzerland and Germany.
Just along from here is the junction of the Rhone du Rhine canal and the route to the upper Rhine. The trails good again now and before long we are on the outskirts of Dole.
Very pleased to have that section behind us ,50 Km's of hard work, and the camp here is great
