Basel to Waldshut . Germany

After leaving the van on the German side of Basel , we carried on along the veloroute 6 trail on the German side of the Rhein. You have a choice of a route on either side ,and at Rheinsfelden we crossed over into Switzerland on this old stone bridge.

The farms and the villages are very pretty along here but the trail goes through about 10 Km's of forest and was more suited to mountain bikes. A few hills too !

This is one of many power stations along the upper Rhein

Crossed back into Germany at Bad Sackingen over this ancient covered bridge. The trail was smooth and fast again, AND very busy.

Our camp tonight is right on the river so I was straight in for a very welcome dip.
