There was a huge thunderstorm last night and we were more than a bit worried about what the last day would be like. Alex told us there were hills for the first 30kms but they didn't turn out to be too bad, perhaps we're just a bit fitter .
Soon got too hot for the rain coat. These markers are at every kilometer and it was very encouraging .
1000's of acres of sunflowers through here and dozens of these special beehives. Very colorful !
Some of the building methods I found interesting. I don't think they have building inspectors ?
As we neared Constanta the traffic got heavier . Hard on the nerves as the draft from the trucks sometimes nearly knocked us over.
At these roadworks the traffic totally ignored the lollipop men ! It was chaos and when this truck driver pushed Christine off the road , she gave him both barrels ! I never new she could swear like that. STREWTH !
The Danube actually goes further north to the delta, but the Eurovelo 6 route has an alternative route straight to Constanta.
We cross the shipping canal which links the two.
What better place for a sign than on a ship..
I had already found an hotel on the sea on line, the Palace. Sounds good I know but they were having a special with rooms overlooking the sea and port Tomis.
That's it behind the Viking ship, which is another story. ( google the name or look it up on Facebook .amazing )
Well, that's it for a while. This was the third part of our eurovelo 6 adventure which started a few years ago on the Atlantic near Nante( first part done in reverse) total distance 3653, most of it on this trip.
We're staying here for a few days. Actually going to see a big rugby match on Saturday.
