Day 31. East to Bechet

We've certainly learnt our lesson well. From now on we need to plan the day ahead carefully so we end up in a town with a bed.
Today it's Bechet . 93kms  but it looks flat.

When Romania joined the EU about 4 years ago many community projects were started to give local employment and enhance the towns. Each town got a flash new  sign like this, IN PLASTIC !
The sun's destroyed most of them already
Lots of weed chipping and gardening but can't they see the bloody RUBBISH. It's as bad here as Serbia !
"Melons for sale!" At least I think that's what he was calling out to each house. It may have been
   "Olga , I know you're in there ! "
Massive fields of sunflowers all ready for harvesting. Christine's tyre is leaking slowly so after a few pump ups ,decided to fix it . Getting hot !
We bought a coke at this magazin (lots of words are the same as in French. How is that ? ) the lady gave us a piece of watermelon each and a place to clean up.
There were 16 villages on the way. We felt like film stars as we rode through , children ran out to give us high fives.
   " where you from?"
"New Zealand".   ( 'Expletive in Romanian !)
After the fall of communism the land was given back to the peasants. Consequently , they now own a narrow strip which they can grow what they like on or just graze.
The kids are funny. There's no licence needed for the horse and cart so they take them everywhere. These three boys came past us in one town at a full gallop. Laughing and having a ball.
An old man stopped them and obviously told them to slow down, and they did ,as they followed us up around the corner, then..... Gidup ,!!  and galloped past us again
Coffee and water stops. Different places
Bechet was worth aiming for . Nice new hotel and only $48 NZ
