Day 31 . Turnu Magurele

What a nice town centre. We booked into the Turris hotel  about 3, just before the sky's opened for a massive downpour .
Oh I do feel smug !
The receptionist said that I was lucky and that the honeymoon suite was on special this week.
"Madam , we've just biked 80kms to get here and the odds of me being lucky are zero"
She gave me a special price on another room.
I thought it might look better through the fountain
Or the fountain through the window.
It was raining when we were about to push off this morning so we had a coffee while waiting for it to stop.
Aren't selfies great
In the next village we noticed lots of wagons coming into town and gathering at this spot .It's Friday so the market men from the cities were here in their vans buying melons for the Saturday morning markets
There were at least 25 wagons of watermelons
The cemetery's are worth a mention. Most headstones had little rooves  over them.  Fashion I suppose ?
We need a haircut!   Passing through one particular village I spotted the 'Friziare ' sign so popped in. Very handy , you can get your puncture fixed while you get a trim
I noticed the man in the chair didn't have a shirt on. When my turn came the barber indicated that ,yes that's what you do. Shirt off please
Ok , but at this point Christine decided that she didn't really need a haircut after all.  I don't think they get too many white men with very hairy chests in here because about 6 chaps from the tyre shop came in to watch the action.
That razors sharp. All up it cost $3 so I left him extra to buy the tyre boys a beer.
Lunch break today was at Corabia. A big grain port and also ,we gathered by the monument, where in 1877 Romania gained independence from Turkish rule
This guy ambled across in his low horsepower model.
And for you Francois , way back in Hungary still, this is the about the 8th French couple we've come across.
  Sacre bleu
