Day 27. The Derdap Gorge

We have since 20kms ago ,been in the famous Derdap gorge. It's 140 Kms long with Serbia on the south side and Romania, where we are, on the north .
The winds dropped away and it's  a lovely warm day
It's Sunday and every available spot along the bank has been taken by fishermen
Coming from the other way we meet 2 Americans Chuck and Susan. They're going from Istanbull to Paris
It may be a bit rough for them , but I recommend this side to the Serbian side. Trucks and tunnels over there
Only patches are like this but it keeps the trucks away. This gorge is pretty with several old forts used to keep the Turks out
Just past this spring ( very welcome as we'd run out of water ) we met up with 4 boys from the Czech Republic on a holiday in Romania.
We are approaching the narrowest part of the Doña ,Famous for its currents and whirlpools . After a nasty climb we are in Dubova ,a village on the edge of a lake formed between 2 narrow gorges. You may be able to see them in the panorama photo I took from our balcony. The restaurant sat out in the lake
